Wednesday afternoon was a special one for the young WPSS players as the Wellington Phoenix rolled into Waikaraka Park led by elite school graduate and rising star Sarpreet Singh.

Singh was joined by fellow first teamers Callan Elliott and Liberato Cacace for what proved to be a highly successful and inspirational visit.

The WPSS youngsters were treated to a player introduction, Q and A session, Phoenix quiz with giveaways and topped off with an awesome meet and greet where players got photos and autographs with their heroes.

A highlight of the afternoon was being able to host Singh and Cacace at the same time. Two youngsters who are doing great things in the A League both developing inside the Wellington Phoenix development pathways.

Singhs rise through the WPSS ranks are well documented but it must not go unmentioned that Cacace has risen to prominence through the Wellington Phoenix Football Academy based down in the capital city.

A great story and one that created excitement amongst all the young players in attendance.
