The NZ U20 mens team are setting the FIFA U20 World Cup alight winning 2 games out of 2.  The wins have secured qualification to the round of 16 knock out stage with 1 game to spare!

Lublin provided the venue for the opening game over the weekend as New Zealand took on Honduras. A completely dominant display saw the young kiwis deservedly take all 3 points with 5 unanswered goals including a strike from former WPSS legend Sarpreet Singh.

A huge first up effort and a wonderful start to the tournament.

The New Zealanders carried on where they left off this morning performing strongly against a Norwegian side that was desperate for a positive result.

The Oceania champions enjoyed the better of an encounter that was tight and evenly-contested for the most part but had to wait until midway through the second half to finally make a well-deserved breakthrough at Lodz Stadium in Poland. An absolute screamer from Wellington Phoenix mid fielder Gianni Stensness broke the game open and the win was completed late on when a Norwegian defender turned the ball into his own goal after more Kiwi pressure.

Focus now shifts to Friday mornings top of the table clash with Uruguay before finding out who the opponent will be in the knock out stages.

Well done to Miya and his team, you are making us all very proud!
